This is kinda a long way to draw a page but upon request of my editor he wanted me to write in the dialogue so that he can see how the flow of the page is and how it reads. This way my editor was also able to see whether some of the dialogue could be taken out or moved to other panels.I kinda like the control of where the balloon placements go and I think as a result words and pictures in this case is much more in synch. Never really done this before so I have much much more respect now for leterrers! It was rewarding in the end to have been part of other aspects aside from just drawing but it's a heck of a lot more work! Bless my editor of his patience! Oh and if I haven't said it enough times the book comes out in France May 21st 2008!

Nice work! Love the crazy small details.

I always lay balloon placements in my layouts, helps to keep all clean and clear and enough room for the letters but not to the point of putting all the text in too. Thats the letters job! Im guessing you get paid well for this stuff though so its ok :)

What publisher is this book coming out through Francis?

thanks! yeah it was kinda crazy that I had to write it all out! It was a real learning experience though! And the euro is much stronger than the canadian dollar so the exchange rate was pretty darn good! And they gave me plenty of time to work on the book ;)
The publisher of the book is Editions-Delcourt.

Ahh cool, yeah the weak US dollar is making it tough working for US companies from here in Australia at the moment . It used to be really good a few years back.

Do Editions-Delcourt have anywhere to send submissions that you know of Francis? Id certainly be interested.

So you're not working on LoSH anymore? Crud, your art was the only reason I was buying them. I knew that you didn't do the last issue released but I wasn't sure if that was just a fill-in or if you were off for good.

yeah, the ballons and texts positions are pretty important and it's one of the most diffcult thing to thinf of when you're start creating a page...
for me, the textes and their place give the direction of reading for the page. and you did very good on this page !
I personnally have a lot to deal since my books "talk" a lot :D

I think panels 4 and 6 work better in the sketch than in the finished, the art gets lost in the dialog in the finishes. Still a cool post=]
