had some more time to work on this warrior piece today in class after the lessons. I think I'm getting more comfortable with the program, and it's getting more fun and less frustrating which is good. I googled some ref for mayan warriors although this isn't exactly an accurate depiction since I took some artistic liberties. I guess it's more inspired by mayan warriors than a painting of one.

Wow! This is great work. I think the timing difference between each is wonderful. It allows me to clearfly see the evolution. (Something I have trouble seeing with other images.)

You are taking classes? That is wonderful. I always find it more helpful to have someone else there to ask and talk to than just trying to figure out from tutorials.
Good luck in the class! It seems helpful.

absolutely I"m glad I decided to take the class. It's funny though because the last time I was in school was in highschool. I find it strange that all the students call our instructor by his first name rather than formalities like "sir". But yeah a it's great to learn all the technical aspects of the program, but the best part is that he shows us how we would apply it to our own work.

That is odd. When I was in school we had to call teachers by their last names. A teacher even yelled at people for calling her Mrs. instead of Ms.
That would be the best part for me. I learn by seeing. So seeing how it applies is great! I hope the classes help you out alot!

I think you can find some how to's online. in all honesty the painting of this image is pretty simple I just used one brush. A lot of what we're learning in class is how to get around the program and some very technical stuff a lot of which I haven't really applied yet. during the painting of this image the only thing i used is one brush and changed the colors around. If you have a general knowledge of photoshop you can work it out in painter. And nope no wonder con for me.

yeah it's a class just on Painter X it I think this was it's first year. It's at a local school here in toronto called toronto school of arts they offer many classes which you can just take individually which is what I"m doing or you can get a diploma of some sort. Just google Toronto School of Art it should come up.
